Following Jesus is both compelling and costly. In Luke 9-11, we see that Jesus doesn't simply call people to believe in him, but to follow him: deny themselves, lay down their lives, reorient everything around him. In these chapters, Luke invites us into greater trust and dependence on Christ in all of our lives.
